DAVID GALLEGOS is a facilitator,
health educator, producer, gay and lesbian rights advocate, and teaching
artist.
As a producer and manager he has worked on a wide range of video documentary
projects and was the Production Director for Memorylines, a
large-scale, five-month long community dialogue performance project
commissioned by The Santa Fe Opera and The Lensic Performing Arts Center.
He worked as the human resources director for Sounds True Publishing,
an event planner, a coordinator for health and wellness conferences,
and has been a health educator with the Boulder County Aids Project
and many other organizations.
As an artist, Gallegos is a trained
dancer and creative writer. He coordinated the Alameda Middle School
component of Memorylines where he worked with middle school
students creating original work that addressed challenging issues in
their lives. He also facilitated the Memorylines collaboration
with seniors at Santa Fe Cares nursing home.
Gallegos is devoted to integrating
health and wellness topics into all of his community work. Currently
Gallegos is the project director for Littleglobe's Common Ground:
Cuba/Torreon/Ojo Encino project,and is working on the development
of a large-scale Littleglobe health and arts initiative.
