ABOUT US

Littleglobe is a New Mexico-based 501(c)(3) organization consisting of seasoned artists, facilitators, activists, and cultural workers devoted to building individual and community capacity through creative community engagement.  Through collaborative art-making, Littleglobe fosters life-affirming connections across the boundaries that divide us.

Littleglobe works in three ways:

Large-Scale Community Collaborations. The Littleglobe artistic team collaborates with diverse communities (children, youth, adults, elders, families, schools and other local organizations) on large-scale creative engagement projects. Each project involves months of collaborative work that enables participants to share and witness individual and collective perspectives, experiences, and stories as well as “build” a community-inspired work of art, installation and/or performance.

Littleglobe then continues to partner with communities to facilitate and nurture continuing dialogue, engagement, development, and leadership.  Littleglobe has witnessed the emerging capacity of communities that practice inclusion—regardless of age, position, power and privilege,—in a atmosphere of dignity and mutual respect.  Littleglobe’s large scale projects include Memorylines Santa Fe, Common Ground TOC, Turn the Lens: Teen Film Project, Crosstown #4, Lifesongs, Coal, and Lines & Circles.

Littleglobe Center for Creative, Community Engagement (CCCE).  Littleglobe is currently in the process of developing a program that will enable artists, organizations, cultural workers and community members to be trained in the theory and practice that underlies  meaningful and successful engagement projects, with a special emphasis on working with southwest communities.  Participants will learn how to facilitate and practice creative engagement work that builds individual and community capacity.   In 2012, the Littleglobe CCCE will offer its first summer institute where participants can learn the principles and best practices that inform creative community engagement while contributing to an ongoing community project.  During the rest of the year, Littleglobe will offer training sessions and fee-for-service offerings related to specific topics:  cross-sector collaboration, southwest community engagement, racial healing, environmental health, wellness, and more.

Artist-Led Works of Art & PerformanceLittleglobe also supports smaller projects created and produced by its core artists.  These projects vary in scope and emphasis, depending on the artist’s vision.  Artist-led projects are in keeping with Littleglobe’s mission and values and reflect the artistic experimentation and rigor that distinguish all Littleglobe work.  Littleglobe artist-led projects include Garden, Salve , Open Books, Women & Creativity collaborations, and more.
