For over 20 years, Little Globeβs team has worked with community members to create film and multi-arts projects across New Mexico and the world.
2000-2005
PHASE 1 - Early Projects
Little Globeβs work began in New York City by Molly Sturges and Chris Jonas. These projects took the form of multi-arts ensembles, bringing together seasoned artists and community members, to tell important stories that are hard to talk about together.
2000-2001
Crossings
An ensemable of women coming together to tell their stories about lives, cancer, and connection.
2005
Moment
A six-month intergenerational, intermedia, ensemble project driven by a team of multi-artist with residents of OβConnell Court, a public sheltered housing project for those deemed βshut inβ including older adults with dementia and physical handicaps.
2005-2012
PHASE 2 - Little Globe Begins
Little Globe is established as a non-profit in Santa Fe, NM. New ensemble-based work begins as Little Globe becomes an a hub for local artists led by Molly, Chris, Valerie MartΓnez, and David Gallegos.
2007
Memorylines
Memorylines brought together 25 community participants, ages 8 to 87, across economic, generational and cultural lines into a four-month creative process which fostered community dialogue, empowerment and empathy.
2007-2010
Commonground
In the rural town of Cuba, NM, over 150 community members came together to co-create a festival of film, storytelling, movement, poetry, spoken word and music
2010-2014
PHASE 3 - Introducing Film
While still focusing on topics that are challenging and sensitive, Little Globe began integrating participatory filmmaking projects that culminated in public screenings and broadcasts.
2012-2015
Our Time is Now
A collaborative documentary film project working with hundreds of high school students across New Mexico, exploring their perspectives, challenges and dreams of their future lives.
2013-2014
Inside / Outside
Inside/Outside collaboratively tells the stories of the challenges former inmates face as they make their way back into society post release.
2016-2020
PHASE 4 - Education & Training
Katy Gross enters Littleβs Globes sphere along with Youth Media Project, enhancing our media arts trainings programs. Chris Jonas also becomes Executive Director.
2016
City of Dreamers
This NEA-funded bilingual program combined film training and student-driven community engagement culminating in multimedia events in area schools and at Santa Feβs Lensic. This project was created to challenge Santa Feβs misconceptions of the Southside community and Capital High School.
2019
Β‘Presente!
Β‘Presente! was a multi-disciplinary collaborative story project, focused on collecting and artistically sharing personal histories and current reflections on displacement and belonging in Santa Fe.

PHASE 5 - LG TV
Like so many organizations, COVID-19 dramatically shifts our ability to continue many of our projects. As a response to Covid, Little Globe TV is created. During this time, giving people the tools to tell their own stories through the Community Storytellers program becomes a major focus.

Little Globe TV
Created in response to COVID-19, Littleglobe TV is an online citycast, featuring works by dozens of artists and more than 100 residents, and has reached tens of thousands of audience members.

Driven by a community council and neighborhood grass roots partners, Convivio Southside is a neighborhood gathering to create a pop-up civic center for and by the Southside community.

We are continuing to deepen our commitment build community storytelling programs that tap into the power of personal narratives that empower individuals, build community-wide empathy and understanding, and catalyze collective action for social progress and policy-making.
Upcoming projects include partnering with the Teen Center and the Santa Fe Indigenous Center.
