What We Do
Every project that Little Globe implements is based on our core values. As a community-based multi-arts organization, these values are centered on ethical storytelling and community engagement.
OUR VALUES
-
Our process centers on collaborative, mutually supportive relationships to co-create stories. We tell stories with people, not about them. This process cultivates empathy and trust, building connected communities. Through co-authorship and responding to each other's stories, we are transformed.
-
We work with a wide array of public and private partners who represent different perspectives and constituencies to build our programs. Little Globe provides services to partners in media training, storytelling, co-authorship, documentary filmmaking, and creative engagement. We believe in taking the time necessary to build trust with our partners and being responsive and adaptive to their needs throughout the process.
-
Our values permeate all aspects of our daily operations. We take the time to meet people where they are, both inside and outside of the organization. We are devoted to co-authorship, access, safety, empowerment, transparency, and non-transactional relationships. The culture of our organization is shaped by our devotion to being artist-led. We embrace process, well-being, shared decision making, and striving for excellence of both creative process and product.
ETHICAL STORYTELLING METHODS
-
We empower our storytellers with the tools and training such that people have the resources they need to tell the stories they want to tell. Storytellers have the right to withdraw their stories from public circulation at any time (recognizing the particular constraints of withdrawal from Internet forms of distribution).
-
To design and Implement an ethically responsible project, ongoing dialogue is necessary between storytellers, staff members, partner organizations, and funders.
Storytellers must have the knowledge and support they need to make informed choices about workshop participation, and the content, production, and use of their work.
Facilitators and partners must be transparent with storytellers about workshop and story distribution goals and methods. This transparency must be woven through the life of a project, from storyteller recruitment, to workshop implementation, and eventual story distribution.
-
We believe that we are changed by the stories we hear. Similarly, through communication, reflection, assessment, and reengineering, we ensure that our processes are always evolving and remain equitable and effective.
-
When creating stories for policy-engagement projects with institutions, public agencies, or other entities that serve populations, it is crucial to connect the story-gathering and sharing process with the mechanisms that will be used to inform policy-making. This ensures that the stories collected can effectively influence the policy decisions that affect the communities involved.
Individual Storytelling
We offer workshops, educational programs, and mentorship to individuals who want to learn how to tell their own stories.
Collaborative Storytelling
We partner with groups and organizations with end-to-end storytelling support.
Amplify & Create Impact
Focused effort in bringing stories together in a meaningful way can bring about transformative change by shifting policy, increasing shared understanding and connection, and enhancing community self-determination and power.

SeedBroadcast is a generative project exploring grassroots food and seed sovereignty through collective inquiries and hands-Βon creative practices. Throughout the year, we initiate community projects to examine critical issues surrounding seed and food sovereignty, visit local farms and gardens to experience what is happening first hand in the field, and engage in creative strategies to dig deeper into the real, often unheard, stories of local agriculture. SeedBroadcast believes that local communities hold a genius of place that nourishes the core of sustenance. We seek to reveal this innovative knowledge, while pollinating creative practices, which animate the saving and growing of local seeds, to provide an avenue for the revitalization of localized and sovereign food sources.
